Dip Nail Removal: A Step-by-Step Guide
Materials You'll Need:
- Acetone
- Orangewood stick or metal pusher
- Foil or nail polish remover clips
- Nail file
- Baking soda
- Lemon juice
- Warm water
- Washing up liquid
- Vegetable oil
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. File the Top Layer of Your Dip Nails
Begin by filing the top layer of your dip nails gently using a nail file. This will help break the seal on the polish and make the removal process easier.
2. Create a Mixture of Acetone and Baking Soda
Create a mixture of equal parts acetone and baking soda. This mixture will help dissolve the dip polish and make it easier to remove.
3. Wrap Your Nails in Foil or Nail Polish Remover Clips
Dip your fingers into the acetone and baking soda mixture and cover each nail with a piece of foil or a nail polish remover clip. Leave the foil or clips on for 10-15 minutes.
4. Push Off the Dip Polish
Once the time is up, use an orangewood stick or metal pusher to gently push off the dip polish. The polish should come off easily.
5. Remove Any Remaining Dip Polish
If there is any remaining dip polish on your nails, repeat steps 2 and 3 until all of the polish is removed.
6. Buff Your Nails
Once all of the dip polish is removed, use a nail buffer to smooth out your nails and remove any remaining residue.
7. Optional: Soak Your Nails in Lemon Juice
To remove any remaining stains from your nails, you can soak them in lemon juice for 4 minutes. The acidity of the lemon juice will help to lift the stains.
